Growth Story
Ben Bozzay started Tech Lockdown as a side project in July 2021 while working at CrowdStrike. He began by writing guides about content blocking — his 'How to Turn Your iPhone into a Dumb Phone' guide was read hundreds of thousands of times. Initially monetized through content and early product teaching content blocking techniques. In 2023, Ben was laid off and decided to go full-time on Tech Lockdown rather than find another job. Within a year, MRR grew to $15K. The product evolved from educational content into a full DNS filtering SaaS platform with bypass prevention as the key differentiator.
Target Audience
Adults seeking to manage their own internet habits, parents wanting household-wide content control, families wanting cross-device filtering, remote workers needing focus tools
Problem Solved
Standard content blockers and parental controls are easy to bypass or disable. People who want to restrict their own internet access need tools with built-in friction that make circumvention difficult, covering all devices in a household.
